Hi everyone, I just downloaded the new Incendia 1.0 (SSE2) on my windows XP system. My computer supports SSE2 and SSE3. Unfortunately the entire programme is just one big flicker on my screen. That is, I see the interface but it is flickering very badly. If I click on certain areas of the interface the flickering will stop on that area, but will resume if I click elsewhere. So at the moment the programme is unusable for me. I was wondering if this has anything to do with a graphics card (not that I know much about that ) I think this is my graphics card Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family [Display adapter] (2x) For what it is worth, my computer can run Xenodream (which is a 3D programme too) and has no problems. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Not sure what to tell you. I have an old P1 running XP and never had a problem with it. I had flicker problems on Vista with some of the early beta testing, but that has been fixed.
Aexion may have to address this for you. I'd try re-booting and running in safe mode and see what happens. I'd also try different monitor resolutions and see if that does anything different. You may also want to try the non-SSE2 version and see if that works any differently. That is what I am running on my XP box. The more things you can try and identify for Aexion, the easier it will be for him to try to diagnose and fix it. Daniel

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try out your suggestions and see how it goes. I'll let you know later the outcome in case others may have this problem.

I just tried it, having the same issues as well. I tried both versions, haven't tried restarting though, Did any of Daniel's suggestions work, fractaldreamer?

In the chat room today, Aexion mentioned he was had read about the flickering problems and was working on a fix. If you haven't already, sign up for updates to the news/announcements section. And don't be surprised if he contacts you directly if you are one of the ones having problems and has you test a fix. D.

So sorry I didn't get back sooner. Life got in the way. Anyway, this is what I found. If I start up in safe-mode Incendia appears to work OK. I don't know anything about this programme yet, but I clicked around everywhere and it seemed stable in that there is no flickering. Going back to the normal mode. There is very bad flickering on my standard resolution of 1152 x864. When I change the resolution the flickering ceases and interface looks fine. However, as soon as I click on one of the tabs eg. render, camera, editors or about the flickering comes back. If I keep clicking around on these tabs sometimes the flickering stops. For example if I have clicked on "camera" and it is flickering then I click on "editors" then click back on "camera" it isn't flickering. The actual grey image is always flickering. Hope this helps a bit. Fran

One person resolved some of these issues by making sure they had the latest version of video drivers. Have you tried that? Some outdated driver as opposed to default video drivers would possibly explain why it works in safe mode. D.

Hi Borosyl,
Are you able to give me a link to the flicker fix. I've had a hunt around but can't find it anywhere. Thanks very much!

I have the same problem on my laptop. Incendia works fine on my desktop, but not on the laptop... just flickers away. I tried everything I could think of. I even tried the download for older, slower PCs.

If you have a new machine, within the last couple of years, it has it. D.
