I just posted about something else you could pray about, but I just got huge news that I wanted to share and get you guys to pray for.  Most of you know my situation.  Five years ago (on the 15th), my nervous system basically shorted out and I have been disabled since.  Starting in April of 2008, my disability insurance started jerking me around and canceled my disability income and policy.  It was fraudulent on several fronts, including the fact that they had just successfully proved to Social Security that I was disabled and were now claiming I was not.  Needless to say, the lawyers got involved.  There is a lot of money at stake (up to 70% of my income for 22 years).  I just heard that AT&T, my former employer and the ones that created and administered this self-funded disability insurance plan, has agreed to a mediated settlement.  Mediation is scheduled for the 23rd.  Please pray that justice prevails.  I sincerely believe that I have justice on my side, but I want His will to be done in this.  Please pray.

Looks like he will have to serve 60-120 days and might get offered probation for the rest.  That means that he will be in there until 5/8 or so at least.  He is now asking if we can get him out on bond, but I don't think that is a good idea.  I don't see any change at this point.   Still a lot of anger at where he is and how he is being treated and not much in the way of addressing why he is there.  In the meanwhile, the cop that arrested him is saying that my son said that he was going to sell the pot (which he denies) and so he charged him with felony possession with intent to distribute.  This is the third story we've heard from the cop.  At first, he told us he was going to be charged with possession of less than 1/2 oz.  Then the story changed that it was going to be a felony because of some "paraphernalia" that was found.  Nothing like this ever made it into evidence though.  Now it is a "he said, he said" thing.  But the DA is wanting to play hard ball and won't drop it down to simple possession.  The court-appointed lawyer says the whole thing is political because the county is trying to justify court expansion and more judges and is doing everything possible to get as many cases in superior court as possible.

In the meanwhile, all the ordeal with my son is just a minor irritant compared to other stuff going on.  I settled my court case with the former employer/insurer that canceled my disability insurance (after helping to prove to Social Security that I was totally disabled).  It wasn't much, but it means we will need to move.  So we are trying to find a place to live.  In the last week, we've gone out on trips to see houses and have seen as many as 15 a day.  There is really nothing ideal in our price range within a 25 mile radius.  We really need something with no stairs and wheelchair access, but the area is hilly and those are rare.  Finding one that doesn't also require $20-30K in repairs is even tougher.

As if all this wasn't enough, some [insert expletive here] booted my wife's car today because she visited another store while waiting on the store she parked at to open.  She was in tears.  The police refused to do anything and the landlord of the store pressured her to take money out of the ATM that she was going to use for meds (the last of what we had left until the 15th) and sign a promissory note for the rest of the $125 that he was extorting from her.  I'm livid.  Everything in me wants to make this guy regret ever getting out of bed this morning.  It is a dangerous thing to mess with someone who has all the time in the world to make sure you reap what you sow.

Anyway, I'm totally worn out from the mental and physical effort of it all.  Add in the emotional drain from my son's situation and the pressure to get all this housing resolved before the $8K tax credits expire at the end of the month and it is overwhelming.  So please keep me on your prayer list.

Lots have happened over the last few months.  We got moved, my son got out on probation, then they revoked his probation after three months and put him back in jail, and just today I've learned that he has a 9/2 court date.  Won't know why he was revoked or any fallout from that until then.  In the meanwhile, my wife found a job doing customer service/tech support for a small company not far from here and is really enjoying it.  Things are still hopping at Theologica and that keeps me busy.  We now have over 2,000 members there.  On the health front, I started developing some sore lumps in my breasts.  Doctors were cautious due to my family history of cancer.  But an ultrasound and mammogram yesterday showed that it was something called gynacomastia, a condition that can cause breast tissue to get inflamed in men.  Doctor said it was caused by a hormone imbalance probably due to my dysautonomia.  Folks around here probably think it is more likely all the human growth hormone in our food supplies or something.  Sometimes I actually miss this place. LOL

hello daniel.
can you not call your son and find out what's going on? anyway, i'll pray for him.
if what you have is just a gynacomastia then it's not that bad. you can also get the tissue removed if it bothers you. did your doctor recommend any blood tests or did he prescribe any estrogen blockers or something like that? fi you developed a gyno then I'd expect elevated estrogen levels in the blood. i dont know how well you are insured and how much of the stuff you have to pay but if you have the chance then going to an endocrinologist might be helpful. he could do blood tests and see if the hormones are in balance.

The surgeon said that he could do a double mastectomy if it got worse of it bothered me.  I am not at that point yet.  I was more concerned about ruling out cancer considering my mom's history of it.  As far as my son goes, I don't know how they do it there, but here in the States you can't just pick up the phone and call a prisoner. Smiley  My wife goes and sees him every week, so we keep up to date with the little that goes on there.  He has a court appearance in two weeks, so we will see what happens then.  I'm at peace with whatever happens.  I've learned to relinquish control and not stress over things I cannot change.
